Elegant and lovely antique fossilized white coral brooch featuring eight bright seed pearls. The white coral and pearls are set in a 18 karat gold frame. The frame of the brooch is decorated with scrolls and curls by fine filigree, granulation and cannetille. 
 
Fossilized coral is a natural gemstone that is created when ancient or prehistoric coral is slowly replaced with agate. Corals are marine animals and their skeletons are fossilized and preserved. The fossil coral forms through hardened deposits left by silica-rich (minerals) waters.
