Pair of lovely antique 9 karat gold double creole hoop earrings. These beautiful earrings have engraved motifs and double hoops. The length of these earrings are 3.4 centimeters and width 2.9 centimeters. Together the earrings weigh 3.9 grams.
 
These gold creole hoop earrings were worn by Dutch fisherman in 19th century around the Zuiderzee, intended for decoration but at the same time as "funeral insurance" in case the fisherman drowned at sea were to wash up on a foreign coast. This allowed the fisherman to be identified.
