Lovely and elegant pair of Dutch antique pendants. These faceted 14 karat yellow gold black jet pendants were part as mourning jewelry. The top of these pendants are adorned with gold and below the top a gold filigree rosette with globule. Such beautiful jewelry was worn by more distinguished women in The Netherlands.
In some regions in The Netherlands - in 19th century till mid 20th century - these pendants were worn as headdress accessories when in mourning and were hooked into a loop in the bottom of the hat and hang along the cheeks in the front strip of the corned hat.
The gold has the Dutch purity hallmark.
The length of each pendant is 5.4 centimeters included the eyelet, width 1.2 centimeters and total weight of these pendants are 9.8 grams.
