One-of-a-kind Dutch West Frisian antique jewelry set. This forehead needle and hat pins comprising of 14 karat gold . These headdress ornaments  - were worn in some parts of the Netherlands in 19th century.  These jewels featuring very fine balls and very fine filigree flowers applied on a handmade needle and pins, which are very skillfully handcrafted and gives one the impression of lace or fine embroidery.

 

In some Dutch fishing villages women of shipping owners and people of the middle class distinguished themselves in their fashionable clothing from the poorer wives of the fishermen. The women of the shipowners wore long hats and occasional side needles. Fishermen's wives wore a short hood and had no needles.

 

This historical jewelry set is amazing. This jewelry was part of the regional dress of the Dutch women in 19th century. To make such marvelous fine jewelry took a lot patience and precision work from the craftsman. This would make a fine addition to an antique jewelry collection or a wonderful gift to a jewelry collector.
