This one-of-kind antique multi-strand red coral 18 karat gold necklace was part of the Dutch regional dress around 1900. The stunning clasp of this necklace consists of 18 karat gold, beautifully adorned with filigree and cannetille work. This 19th century cannetille filigree necklace featuring very fine filigree flowers and engravings applied on a handmade clasp which is very skillfully handcrafted and gives the impression of lace or fine embroidery.
 
This necklace is unique and makes an impressive statement on the neck. The necklace is in excellent antique condition and ready to wear or to gift to someone special.
 
The size of the coral has a diameter between 5 to 6 millimeters. The length of the smallest string is 37.5 centimeters and the diameter of the clasp is 4.5 x 7.5 centimeters. The necklace weighs 100 grams.
 
This kind of necklaces – regional jewelry – were worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands as part of the regional dress, especially worn in the northern part of The Netherlands. Antique coral jewelry is rare and unique, it’s adding a warm touch to any outfit
