This 19th century cannetille filigree tassel brooch featuring very fine filigree flowers or 'spiders' applied on this handmade brooch, which is very skillfully handcrafted and gives the impression of lace or fine embroidery.
This kind of jewelry was worn by Zeeland women in the south part of the Netherlands. The so-called 'spiders' or Zeeland knots are typical for the Zeeland regional dress.
The brooch would make a lovely addition to an antique jewelry collection or a fine gift. The brooch is in good condition with normal surface scratches and minor wear from previous use. It's clean and ready to wear or to gift.
